The lovely Stylight team
(Check out the site www.stylight.co.uk,sign up and follow me maybe? http://www.stylight.co.uk/iamnrc/)
organised a dinner at Kopapa in Covent Garden onthe last night of London Fashion Week.
It was a great evening, the conversation was interesting, the was food delectable, and the wine flowed freely – read my kind of night.
Kopapa is a Maori/ New Zealand fusion restaurant. I tasted delectable dishes I would have never dreamt of putting together.
There was a party in my mouth for sure. Enough from me see the photos. And let me know if you go.
—
Deep-fried sesame & Urfa chilli salted squid, sumac mayonnaise
Mozzarella burrata with tomato salad, mint & black vinegar Medjool dates
(I was apprehensive about trying this but it was crazy good, creamy, sweet and soft with hard and soft textures)
Queenie scallops, sweet chilli sauce & crème fraîche
Salad of Belle Knolle, roast grapes, mixed leaves, pickled king oyster mushrooms,
walnuts and black vinegar dressing
(this was a really nice spin on a salad, I’m going to try to recreate this)
Warm charlotte potati & cavolo nero tortila with brown butter mascarpone, pecorino & hazelnuts.
(this is my highlight of the dishes sort of like a potato gratin but so much better)
Tempura inari pocket of aubergine, tamarind & cumin
(I had no idea aubergine could taste so good)
Apple and quince charlotte with lemon custard
(Van and I shared this but I ate most of it … Ngoni can’t share dessert)
Blood orange and white chocolate ganache
(This was my meal highlight its pretty and it tasted good… yeah)
Peanut butter parfait origanl beans
A big thank you to Alex for organising it.
Other Alex, Van and Millie for making dinner so fun.
