Last week I was traipsing around various Swiss cities, ‘climbing’ mountains, dipping in lakes, yodelling (yes really!) using so many different modes of transport and sampling traditional cuisine!
Adventures in Switzerland
The main purpose of the trip was ofcourse to use the Swiss Pass, the pass essentially allows you to channel your inner explorer and travel through Switzerland by boat, train, bus and tram it also includes free museum entry.
Having only been to Zurich and Davos I was intrigued to find out what-else Switzerland had to offer so I went to St Gallen, Appenzell,Rapperswil, Einsiedein,Ufenau, Vitznau and Lucerne.
As there was a lot to do and experience (and also a ridiculous amount of images) I have decided to split the trip into different posts that will be up each day this week.
There was lot to do and after my trip I can’t recommend visiting these lesser known Swiss towns too. They were very different from Zurich and Davos (my previous haunts) and it was lovely to discover such lovely and diverse oasis’. Travelling to and from the big smoke as well as other major European cities and towns can make it easy to forget that cities and towns can be pretty, scenic and so darn picturesque.
It was refreshing to really get to the heart of places that usually as a tourist it would be easy to over look in favour of the bigger and better know cities and towns. I fell in love with so many parts of Switzerland you’ll have to read my upcoming posts.
Adventures in Switzerland
For now here is a little taste of some of what I got up to:
In tomorrows post I’ll be taking about St Gallen and beer tasting- yes that is a thing!
