Afternoon Tea at the Modern Pantry was delicious.
I am incredibly fussy when it comes to food but I ate everything barr the quail egg. The Modern Pantry Menu fuses together a global plate, some fusion restaurants I have been to have failed to deliver but I was pleasantly surprised.I loved the menu there was a cacophony of flavours not two items were the same (in a good way).
We hopped on the 55 bus from Oxford Street and 22 minutes later we were in Clerkenwell. The Restaurant is incredibly easy to find.
We walked in and were promptly seated the waitress recommended some smoothies to start then we moved on to the real drinks. Amanda a glass of Mabis Prosecco NV and I had a Lychee Bellini.
Staff: very attentive
Location: stunning georgian townhouse,easy to find and get to.
Atmosphere: chilled and lots of laughs.
Food: fantastic I can’t fault any of it.
The Modern Pantry also does Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast and a brunch menu I’m checking out tomorrow to celebrate Naomi’s birthday.
Passionfruit Smoothie
Darjeeling & pink peppercorn scone, clotted cream,
berry & liquorice jam & a Lemongrass panna cota with toasted coconut.
Chia & mixed seed bread open sandwich – quail egg,
miso & wasabi cream cheese, macadamia dukkah.
Club sandwich – tea smoked salmon, avocado, yuzu
mayonnaise, pea shoots.
Cheddar, caramelised onion & turmeric scone, curry.
leaf goats curd.
Lotus root crisp, Persian spiced sweet potato, spinach
& hijiki
