Last week I headed to London to find my fast with Nike. The only hint I had was that it was going to involve all things fast, ofcourse being Nike I knew whatever we were doing it was going to be sporty, fun and awesome and well it was. The shoe launch began with food and drinks by the Thames followed by what has to be the most epic shoe launch ever – a group of members of the press, bloggers and I headed into a dark room and as we stood the most insane audio and visual presentation began playing it was definitely an experience (I streamed parts of it on my snapchat id -iamnrc) and then the lights came up and the new trainers were on display.Nike Air Zoom Elite 8

We then had a talk by champion athletes and they spoke about what inspires them, how they work out etc the one thing that kept coming up was perseverance yes even athletes have to encourage themselves and keep going so if at times you feel discouraged like me even athletes have their struggles to but to get better you have to keep going! We then changed into our new kit, and took a speedboat yes a speedboat to our next location where we warmed up and then ran. I thought I had a really bad stitch while running but it turns out I have bruised my ribs- an accidental cricket bat to the chest will do that to a girl ha!
I’ve been very naughty as a runner as I pretty much ran in my Nike Free 4.0’s as I felt most ‘running’ trainers were too bulky/heavy for me and after doing a gait analysis (you can do this at the Nike Oxford St store and it finds you the right trainers for you running style) I now have a great pair of trainers that offer me support but allow me that light stepping I like so much unfortunately So far I’ve only done 17.5 miles with the Nike Air Zoom Elite 8 (the nike running app allows you to log in your sneakers and tells how how much you’ve run in them) and they are a great fit for me, I like to mix up my terrain so I run on the treadmill, but mostly I do mixed trails and my park runs obviously I’ve been easier on myself because of my ribs but I should be okay soon all you can do is rest but next week I should be ready to find my fast! *Just a note on exercising while injured or in pain listen to your body people!
