Interiors| Apartment Living

So, I’ve finally decided what university to attend and where I want to live and who to live with (myself, other people are bothersome and I definitely couldn’t do halls just the thought makes me shudder lol). This is obviously a very exciting time and I’m getting so excited looking at interior design inspirations for the place I’ll rent out. As this is my first time I will be having more than my bedroom to myself, the task is a bit daunting and I’m completely overrun with options on how I can make the apartment my own. I have a few things that I have had to take into account whilst brainstorming design ideas. One of these is personalisation, I want this new space to really feel like it can be a space I’m comfortable relaxing in when I come back at night from uni. I also still have a limited budget and space due to my position as a student. This has led me to you all, my readers, as it is a large task I thought I should share some of my current ideas with you so as to get a clear idea in my head of what a finished flat will look like, but also hope to get some ideas from you all as to where I could add and take away to make my new space into my dream uni accommodation.

I want it all white with snippets of greys, patterns, fun colours and textures.

Bedroom-I already have the four-poster bed so here are some pictures I really liked for inspo. It was hard to find any pictures for inspo but I could get some aesthetic wallpaper to line the walls maybe. Something that could match my sheets would be brilliant.

Storage – Most of these are Stolmen Systems from Ikea. I really like the idea of a wardrobe with no doors it means I’ll have more space too and more space = more clothes for me. I could also get clothes out in an instant and know where they are.

Workspace- Living in a two bed roomed pad I think it would be a great idea to use the smaller room as a work space for sewing, making and studying over the next three years. I do want this space to encourage creative thinking. One idea i had for this was incorporating some of the fun neon lights from this website www.neonfilter.com to make this space more interesting to work in.

Living Room – Colourful couches, wall arts (like those made of the modern 5-panel canvas), photos and multicolored cushions and rugs seem like the perfect way to brighten up an all white environment. Of course, besides the outlook, you should make sure that the comfort is also matched along with the decor. It might be surprising, but several heating devices can also become part of your interior decor. For instance, you can check out these custom fire pits for sale, and select the glass fire pit table, that can make a great alternative to a fireplace.

Kitchen – All images of appliances are from Kitchen Aid. Nothing too fancy just tools to help me cook some delicious meals.

I’m sure many of you are in the same boat as me any tips for shopping for furniture?

  2. i agree with southerners from the north’s comment 🙂 ive got two of them railings from argos and they’re perfect! i can see all my clothes! ps, i love how ur considering what u want in your room 🙂 being an art student, i prefer living in a room with visuals everywhere so my room is pretty colourful/ pictures everywhere but my friends who are less creative have a bed, a table with laptop on and a warddrobe! so boring!!

I can’t wait I’m soo excited, I love white but with colour accents. I think I might grab some paint and just paint on one wall or on a large canvas that goes over the bed x

  7. Great choices for the designs. I love your concept of keeping the walls white so the little touches of color in home accessories and furniture will show. Also, love the design of the work space as shelves are usually the way to go!
